Purchasing Manager – Elk Grove Village, IL

Responsibilities

  • Implement & communicate mass vendor price changes
  • Review & update item and customer pricing to look for margin opportunities
  • Manage special pricing requests from sales people for recurring or one-time quotes
  • Prepare large quotes or pricing proposals for key customer opportunities
  • Maintain reporting tools used by the sales team and management
  • Provide advice and system data to various departments as requested
  • Prepare Price quotes, for Director requests for price
  • Review and approve program agreements with customers, groups etc.
  • Review and approve price agreements to understand price by market, by customer
  • Maintain and report market price, trends, developments
  • Maintain and report competitive information, gathering lines of competitive product
  • Key contact with BIS – understand pricing provided against market actuals
  • Review all profitability of accounts, make information available
  • Update facts and figures in the monthly recap document
  • Review and research variances as requested
  • Assist with details in the forecast and budget process
  • Maintain and update regularly pricing history database
  • Conduct analysis as well as implement all price changes
  • Help customer service and team members resolve pricing discrepancies
  • Coordinate external and internal communication of internal pricing and item changes
  • Develop and maintain relations with sales and customer service as required
  • Maintain documented records with precision
  • Other duties as assigned including:
    • Support the CRM tool regarding prospects with brokers
    • Participate with Show support and appointments at shows
    • Support organizing our broker meetings
    • Coordinate marketing or show lead follow up with broker and director
    • POS files and development coordination
    • PowerPoint presentation library
    • Price Sheets, Spec Sheets review for updates and accuracy
    • Product specs on website review for update
    • Accuracy of info on website review for update

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Business preferred
  • Minimum 3 years pricing experience
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Detail oriented and able to undertake projects with minimal supervision
  • Possess exceptional Customer Service skills and solid analytical problem solving proficiency
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Individual must be a self-starter and an initiator
